For you who choose to commit
yourselves to one another
we seek appropriate words to fit
this singular day like which no other
of your days can ever be.
The words that come to mind
like wish, and love, of course,
and hope, are kindly, ordinary
words, which struggle to express
the thoughts which like behind.
Yet they are deeply meant
and we wish you deeply well.
So before this year is spent
fulfilment may you find
and serenity in life.
Many of us know, Paul and Tess
what you both have given and give
and why as man and wife
you both deserve no less
than more than common happiness
in the years you have to live.
